The DocType directive is one of the most important, as it designates the rules for processing the rest of the xCss file. In particular, it defines the version of the xCss standard to apply when processing and rendering are done.

xCss DocType can be compared closely with the HTML !DOCTYPE tag that many designers are familiar with.
